Our team supports jobseekers to build confidence, develop skills, and connect with meaningful employment and training opportunities.The roleWe are seeking full-time, passionate, and culturally aware mentors to join our team in Mount Isa.As a Job Mentor, you will walk alongside our First Nations jobseekers, offering tailored mentoring, guidance, and advocacy throughout their employment journey.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Job Mentor at Bamara, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting individuals in their professional development. Working within an innovative and dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the career growth of our employees.Build strong, respectful relationships with First Nations job seekersProvide individualised mentoring and coaching to support work readinessAssist clients in identifying career goals and developing job plansConnect job seekers with suitable training, employment, and community support servicesLiaise with employers to support sustainable employment outcomesMaintain accurate records and comply with Workforce Australia contractual obligationsSkills and Experiences:About YouProven experience in mentoring or coaching individuals in a professional settingIdentify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or have experience working in a culturally competent mannerExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to provide constructive feedback and guidance to support First Nations JobseekersAbility to work collaboratively in a team and independently to manage a caseloadStrong organisational and time management abilitiesEmpathy and patience when working with individuals from diverse backgroundsKnowledge of local industry-specific job requirements and career pathways is an advantageExperience in creating personalised job plans for individualsExperience in employment services, youth work, community services, or mentoring is highly regardedProficiency in using relevant mentoring tools and softwareMust have WWCC and be able to satisfactorily pass a police checkWhy Join us?Culturally safe and inclusive workplaceOngoing professional development and cultural learningOpportunities to make a genuine impact in the communitySupportive and passionate team environment
