Asset and Facilities Support Officer, Clerk Grade 3/4, Wagga Wagga

* Join a small, dynamic team within the Zone Finance, Assets & Business Services (FABS) directorate, providing support to SES volunteers and staff across the Southern Zone.
* Contribute to a volunteer‑based emergency service agency dedicated to supporting communities across NSW.
* Full‑time temporary position until 28 January 2028
* Competitive remuneration package of up to $120, inclusive of salary, leave loading, superannuation, and a 15% field allowance), along with attractive leave entitlements.
* Location: Based in Wagga Wagga.

About the opportunity

The Asset & Facilities Support Officer (AFSO) provides diverse business support services to Zone staff which include fleet, asset, and facilities management activities. The role also assists the Manager Business Services to coordinate the yearly CED registration process, fleet data analytics, assisting in audit functions, and strategic equipment and asset planning for the zone.

The position responds to a variety of enquiries and issues from multiple stakeholders and ensures the provision of accurate information, and timely and effective solutions. It is also critical in collating information, preparing reports on fleet performance, and making appropriate recommendations to improve efficiency, cost management, and service.

The AFSO is also part of a team supporting operations, which assists our communities during floods, storms and tsunamis, so the role will be required to participate in operational activity when required.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

* Be a highly motivated individual with excellent communications skills.
* Be able to effectively coordinate multiple tasks to meet deadlines and plan and prioritise your workload.

* Understand how to interpret procurement policy and procedures.

* Source, collate and record data for timely and accurate reporting.
* Bring previous experience of managing large and diverse fleet activities or a desire to learn in this field.

Essential Requirements

* Knowledge of NSW government procurement, supply and fleet policy and practices.
* Competence in the use of computers and application software packages relating to warehouse and/or fleet management
* Thorough knowledge of AIIMS principles and processes, or willingness to obtain competence within 12 months
* Hold a current drivers license.
