Large Loss handles claims where homes have been seriously damaged or destroyed. These aren't quick claims. They take patience, structure and clear communication with customers, assessors and repairers, especially when customers are stressed and trying to figure out what happens next. This is the kind of work where empathy really matters, because the decisions you make help people start putting their lives back together.
Most days you'll be reviewing reports, applying policy and keeping multiple stakeholders aligned so claims keep moving. Some conversations will be straightforward. Others will be tougher, where customers need calm explanations and steady guidance. You won't be left to figure it out alone. You'll work alongside experienced advisors, take part in regular case reviews and build confidence managing more complex claims over time.
This role suits someone who has already worked in building and contents claims and understands how policy and repairs come together.
What you'll be doing
* Manage a portfolio of large loss building and contents claims
* Review assessor and builder reports and apply policy to determine coverage decisions
* Guide customers through the claims process when their home has been seriously damaged or destroyed
* Coordinate repairs, inspections and temporary accommodation arrangements
* Work closely with assessors, builders and suppliers to keep claims progressing
* Maintain clear documentation while prioritising multiple claims at different stages
What you'll have
* Experience managing building and contents insurance claims
* Confidence managing a portfolio of claims at different stages
* Strong understanding of policy interpretation and claims processes
* Experience working with assessors, builders or repairers
* High attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication
* Confidence using claims systems and managing competing priorities
