What You'll Do

As a Human Resources Advisor based in Brisbane, you will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive HR support to both the Corporate Division and the Office of the Director-General. Your day-to-day activities will involve providing expert guidance on a variety of operational HR matters—ranging from recruitment processes to performance management—ensuring all actions are compliant with Queensland Public Sector frameworks. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders at every level to build trusted relationships founded on empathy and understanding. By interpreting complex policies and analysing workforce data, you will help shape practical solutions that drive positive change across the organisation. Your commitment to accuracy in transactional processing will underpin efficient business operations while your advocacy for an inclusive workplace culture will foster an environment where everyone feels valued. Provide timely, high-quality, and professional HR advice and operational support across a wide spectrum of human resource management matters while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, agreements, directives, and departmental policies.
Build and nurture strong working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues throughout the Corporate Division and Office of the Director-General by offering tailored coaching, guidance, and advice to facilitate effective workforce outcomes.
Interpret and apply complex HR policies, procedures, and relevant legislation to provide expert guidance on intricate human resource issues that support sound decision-making and effective people management practices.
Research and analyse workforce data as well as HR management issues to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement; contribute to the development of practical business solutions that enhance workforce capability, staff engagement, and employee experience.
Deliver specialist advice and support across all facets of human resource management functions including workforce planning, succession planning, establishment management, recruitment and selection processes, remuneration matters, employment conditions, employee management, and performance matters.
Undertake accurate and timely processing of operational human resource forms and transactions while ensuring alignment with business requirements, legislative obligations, and service delivery standards set by the Corporate Services Hub.
Contribute actively to promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture by modelling professional behaviour at all times.
Support the wellbeing of colleagues by encouraging continuous learning initiatives as well as professional growth within the team environment.
Collaborate with internal teams such as the Enabling Solutions Group to ensure seamless delivery of HR services that meet organisational needs.
Assist in driving continuous improvement initiatives within HR operations by identifying process enhancements based on feedback from stakeholders.

Demonstrated experience providing high-quality HR advice across a broad range of operational human resource management matters within large or complex organisations.
Proven ability to interpret complex legislation, awards, agreements, directives, policies, and procedures relevant to public sector environments.
Strong relationship-building skills with an emphasis on collaboration; able to offer tailored coaching and guidance that supports positive workforce outcomes.
Excellent analytical skills for researching workforce data; able to identify trends or risks while contributing actionable recommendations for improvement.
Comprehensive knowledge of core HR functions including workforce planning, succession planning, establishment management, recruitment processes, remuneration frameworks, employment conditions administration, employee relations issues, and performance management protocols.
Meticulous attention to detail when undertaking operational processing of HR forms or transactions; ensures compliance with business requirements as well as legislative obligations.
Commitment to promoting safe workplaces through modelling professional behaviour; supports wellbeing initiatives for colleagues while encouraging continuous learning within teams.
Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional groups such as enabling solutions teams or corporate service hubs in order to deliver seamless HR services.
Ability to communicate complex information clearly both verbally and in writing; adapts style appropriately for different audiences or situations.
