Job Opportunity
A senior MS SQL developer is required to work on a contract basis in Melbourne.
* Troubleshoot and resolve database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, resource contentions, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
* Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, Profiler, SSMS, DMVs, system procedures and other troubleshooting tools to analyze and tune databases and SQL queries for optimal efficiency.
* Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching, how statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
* SQL Development – ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints) and developing/automating database maintenance scripts.
* Sound knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Server operating systems with an emphasis on maintaining large data volumes (> 4 TB) on multi-disk arrays.
* Knowledge of Microsoft reporting services and developing custom reports SSRS.
* Designing and developing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and SSAS systems and Active Directory operation.
* Understanding ITIL and deployment/release processes
* Proven experience in large and complex corporate networks.
* Microsoft SQL certification required.
* Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make technical decisions.
* A preparedness to take the initiative and a strong desire to achieve results.
* Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly organized and with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
