About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Capital Works Project Officer. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the successful delivery of project objectives, with a focus on meeting time, budget, compliance, and quality targets. As a key member of our team, you will leverage your expertise in project management to support the efficient and economical management of infrastructure and facilities within the Immigration Detention & Justice Contracts. This is a fixed-term contract, with the potential for permanency based on outstanding performance and organizational needs.
What you’ll be doing
* Identify, plan, schedule and monitor project activities using effective project management methodology to meet desired time, budget, compliance and quality objectives
* Maintain project documentation including the risk, issues, decisions and lessons logs, status reports, project schedules and project plans.
* Identify, manage and escalate project risks and conflicts. Assist with resolving issues and implement mitigating strategies.
* Develop strong working relationships with project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
* Understand and learn key elements of all FM deliverables including use of the computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system
About you
You are a seasoned project management professional with a proven track record of success in delivering infrastructure projects efficiently and effectively. You possess a strong foundation in project management methodologies and techniques, coupled with a keen understanding of built assets and infrastructure.
Your ideal skills & experience include:
* Tertiary qualification or Diploma of Project management and or trade background with a strong FM/Project Management experience
* Experience within building/construction trade and experience covering all aspects of construction, project management & contractor management
* Strong skills with Microsoft Office tools particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.
* Demonstrated effective performance indicating a high degree of communication skills, capacity for innovative thought and action and ability to work as a member of a team with minimal direction and supervision
