About the Company: Australian Garnet owns the Lucky Bay Garnet Mine, which has a mine life of 30 years. We are an owner miner with our own fleet of mining equipment, have a fully operational processing plant, packaging plant and 7 wind turbines, construction was completed approximately 2 years ago. About the Role: We are looking for Mechanical Fitters to join our team working on our recently constructed Lucky Bay mine site.
The mine has a 30 year+ mine life and is located within a thirty minute drive from Kalbarri township. This position will maintain mechanical equipment on site and will be working a 8 days on/6 days off roster.
Accommodation will be provided for the right candidate for up to 3 months to allow relocation to the local Kalbarri or Geraldton region if not already residing in this area.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain assigned equipment and perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.
* Troubleshoot during engine / mechanical breakdown and organize a remedy.
* Conduct work in a safe manner using the Take‑5's job hazard analysis (JHA's) to meet safety standards.
* Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to Company equipment in accordance with Planned Maintenance Processes.
* Maintain all required logbooks and inspection reports as per company procedure.
* Report all faults and defects to maintenance personnel, offering potential solutions.
Qualifications
* Trade Mechanical Fitter qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
* Experience in workshop and/or field services.
* Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent attitude in getting the job done safely and within the required time frames.
* The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
* The ability to organise and prioritise workloads, adapt to changing circumstances, and take initiative with a proactive and resourceful mindset.
