As a senior strategic leader, the CAHIO is accountable for the development and implementation of the ISLHD clinical information communication and technology (ICT) strategy. The role provides clinical leadership and expert advice on digital health to guide clinical decision-making, implementation of change initiatives and clinical informatics consistent with the goals and objectives of clinical and strategic priorities across ISLHD. The CAHIO will lead the ISLHD allied health workforce in digital transformation, such as single digital patient record (SDPR), ensuring allied health is represented in planning and decision making to optimise patient care and service delivery. The CAHIO will be a key leader in the digital health transformation for AH across ISLHD. The CAHIO will act as a liaison between the clinical and informatics teams, ensuring that digital solutions are clinically relevant, safe and improve patient outcomes. They will be required to engage with key stakeholders in the development and implementation of digital health initiatives. The CAHIO will provide professional and operational support to allied health service leads (including but not limited to directors, unit heads, team leaders and/or coordinators, clinical leads, site seniors) in the context of ICT. In partnership with the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and the Chief Nursing & Midwifery Information Officer (CNMIO), the CAHIO leads and advocates for the transformation of clinical information systems and the integration of advanced technologies that enhance patient care delivery.
