Details : The Director, Change Communications and Engagement will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to introduce the new digitised ACT Firearms Registry. The registry is part of the National Firearms Register that is being developed by the Commonwealth Government via the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC).
The Director, Change Communications and Engagement will lead, design and implement the communications and engagement strategy and the change management plan for the program. They will deliver audience and stakeholder outcomes that enhance the reputation of our directorate and ensure successful program delivery.
The Director, Change Communications and Engagement will play a critical role in collaborating with other agencies and managing challenging stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced work environment. They will provide high level advice on complex issues and be responsible for the development of documents, reports, submissions, briefs, and correspondence for senior executives, Ministers and related stakeholders.
The Director, Communications and Engagement will have excellent stakeholder engagement and communications skills and deliver high-level change management and communications and engagement strategies, polices, priorities and operational practices.
Eligibility/other Requirements
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience working professionally in the fields of communications and engagement is highly desirable.
* The ability to work flexibly with occasional weekend and after-hours work is required.
* This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
* This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
Notes: this is a temporary position available from 16 May 2025 to 15 May 2026, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. this position is in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers do not have a designated workstation/desk. Flexible Working/Hybrid Options: Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
