This is your opportunity to lead the brand behind one of Australia's most iconic tourism regions, manage campaigns, guide a creative team and bring the stories of K'gari (Fraser Island), Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast to life.

This is a big, exciting regional marketing role with real creative impact. You will be joining Fraser Coast Tourism & Events Ltd, one of 13 Regional Tourism Organisations in Queensland, working with partners to drive visitor growth and millions of dollars in regional economic benefit.

Reporting to the CEO and joining the senior leadership team, you will be working across digital and traditional channels targeting both the domestic and international markets.

You will be based in Hervey Bay and join a team passionate about making a difference and telling the remarkable stories of the Fraser Coast – one of the most pristine, big nature experience destinations on the Australian coast.

You will be experienced in leading teams, setting a fast pace, managing campaign budgets and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver projects under deadline pressure while meeting the needs of multiple stakeholders.

Building business relationships and designing creative marketing campaigns that both harness the combined efforts of Fraser Coast industry operators and align with the State's peak tourism body – Tourism & Events Queensland – are key components of the role.

To be successful you will most likely be tertiary qualified in marketing disciplines, be able to demonstrate strong knowledge and experience with digital platforms and technologies and have spent several years leading a creative team.

About FCTE:

Fraser Coast Tourism & Events Ltd is a not‑for‑profit destination marketing and events company with offices in Hervey Bay and Maryborough, charged with growing the tourism economy through product development and marketing, engaging with domestic and international consumers, trade suppliers, media outlets and businesses. We work with more than 130 local business partners, including tour operators, accommodation providers, restaurants, attractions, hire and charter suppliers and retail businesses. We are one of 13 Regional Tourism Organisations in Queensland and partner with Tourism & Events Queensland and the Fraser Coast Regional Council.


Areas Where You Will Make a Difference

Skills and Experience:

* Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans, translate them into actionable steps and measure outcomes.
* Digital Marketing: Proficiency in digital marketing practices, including social media, website management, content creation, SEO and analytics.
* Financial Management: Experience in budget management, contract negotiation, and managing projects within financial constraints.
* Campaign Management & Creativity: Proven ability to coordinate and implement successful marketing campaigns, including tactical and promotional activities.
* Stakeholder Management: Strong relationship‑building skills to work with diverse internal and external partners, including tourism operators, government, industry bodies, and other organizations.
* Project Management: Experience in managing projects from concept through to implementation and evaluation.


What you will bring to the role:

* Education: A tertiary qualification in marketing, tourism, or a related field preferred although extensive experience will also be considered.
* Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of tourism industry trends, consumer behavior, and key markets (both domestic and international).
* Technical Skills: Proficiency with essential software, including the Microsoft Office Suite, and graphic design/web platforms like Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress.
* Personal attributes :
o Communication: Excellent written and face‑to‑face communication skills for liaising with stakeholders, creating content and reporting.
o Leadership: The ability to lead teams, provide direction and work collaboratively.
o Adaptability: The capacity to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and be flexible in a dynamic environment.
o Creativity: The ability to innovate and develop fresh ideas and thinking.
