Specialist Field Service Fitter/Diesel Mechanic - Previous Applicants Need not Apply
Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $86,263, plus attraction allowance of 6.5% ($5,608 Per Annum) for a fixed term period to the successful candidate, plus up to 14% superannuation.

Role Overview
The position requires diagnosing, servicing, fueling and maintaining council's diesel plant and machinery in the field and workshop, ensuring compliance with policy and procedures. The role also involves safe transport of fuel to designated locations, pre‐trip inspections, operating fueling equipment, maintaining accurate delivery records, following safety regulations and ensuring customer service excellence.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose, service, repair and maintain a range of plant, earthmoving and road transport equipment.
* Perform fault finding and diagnostic skills within workshop and field environments, including use of machine management software.
* Maintain hydraulic systems and automotive electrical systems of machinery.
* Operate and maintain fuel delivery vehicle, pumps and hoses; plan delivery routes and adhere to council policies.
* Maintain records and use computer systems for effective recording of maintenance records.
* Drive/class HR truck and operate auxiliary equipment.
* Co‐coach and mentor apprentices.
* Carry out service and maintenance program and fault diagnostic service for council's plant and machinery.
* Ensure safe work methods and continuous improvement initiatives within the Fleet and Logistics Section.
* Other duties as delegated within the level of responsibility.
Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR31116) or equivalent.
* Queensland 'Heavy Vehicle Driver's License – Class HR' or above (current and maintained).
* Queensland General Construction Induction (White/Blue card).
* Queensland High Risk Work License – FL (Forklift truck) (current and maintained).
* Post‐trade experience in servicing, repair and maintenance of plant, earthmoving and road transport equipment.
* Demonstrated fault finding and diagnostic skills.
* Experience with machine management software operations.
* Ability to diagnose hydraulic and automotive electrical systems.
* Experience driving / operating an HR class truck and auxiliary equipment.
* Proficiency with maintenance records and computer systems.
