**POSITION DESCRIPTION - Business Support Officer
**Purpose**
The Business Support Officer is responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative and business
support to the Unit Manager Community Health and Safety and the three teams of the Community Health
and Safety Unit.
The primary objective of this position is assisting the staff of the Community Health and Safety Unit to
develop a healthy and safe environment, by undertaking accurate administration functions to meet legislative
requirements and timeframes, and providing efficient and timely information to a range of customers and
stakeholders.
Sound communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to maintain productive relationships with
internal and external stakeholders will be vital to this role.
As an ongoing commitment to the organisation, you will be responsible for delivering the best service to our
community and to improve residents' quality life; continuously, smartly and efficiently in the scope of your
daily work.
**Key Outcomes**
- Provide timely information to a range of customers and internal and external stakeholders including by
telephone, face to face, front counter and also in writing.
- Running computer software programs and managing system workflows regarding the issuing and
enforcement of expiation notices.
- Data entry and recording, reporting and maintaining statistical information.
- Payment reconciliation.
- Database/system maintenance.
- Identify the need for and develop and review administrative and team work processes and procedures for
ongoing process improvement.
- Mapping and documenting processes and procedures.
- Preparing a range of correspondence and documents.
- Conducting processes within legislative boundaries.
- Updating websites with relevant information.

- Knowledge of or to be able to rapidly obtain the knowledge of the Expiation of Offences Act,
Australian Road Rules and Road Traffic Act and Private Parking Act.
- Basic understanding of D
