Opportunity
Tall tech is seeking a highly capable, hands‑on Operations Manager to lead and elevate operations across its fast‑growing group — including Tall tech's Head Office in Noosa, its Brisbane office, and Focal Glow. This is a pivotal role overseeing project delivery, service performance, WHS compliance, scheduling, team leadership, and coordination across multiple sites.

Tall tech is the largest smart home automation business on the Sunshine Coast. Known for designing and delivering seamless high‑end technology experiences, they work closely with award‑winning architects, designers, and builders across Queensland. The HQ is in Noosa, and they're expanding operations in Brisbane and beyond.
About You
You're an experienced operations leader who communicates clearly, makes practical decisions, and brings structure and consistency to busy technical environments. You can lead teams across locations, uphold safety and delivery standards, and support an owner‑operator with visibility and confidence.
You're steady, organised, people‑focused, and committed to keeping operations running smoothly so the whole business performs at its best.
Your New Role
You'll lead day‑to‑day operations across Tall tech and Focal Glow — managing project delivery, service workflows, WHS, scheduling, and team performance.
You'll partner closely with Finance on job costing, labour utilisation, forecasting, and milestone billing, and with Sales to ensure delivery capacity aligns with pipeline demand.
Your leadership will keep operations safe, efficient, and predictable, enabling the Managing Director to focus on strategy and expansion.
Role Requirements
* Proven operational leadership within construction, trades, electrical, AV/automation, or technical project environments
* Experience managing multi‑site teams
* Strong WHS, risk and compliance knowledge
* Skilled in scheduling, capacity planning, and documentation standards
* Practical financial understanding (job costing, margins, labour utilisation)
* Experience building SOPs, processes, and accountability frameworks
* Comfortable working directly with an owner in a fast‑growing business
* Willingness to travel regularly between Noosa and Brisbane
Key Qualifications, Experience & Skills
* Strong people leadership and clear communication
* Ability to coach, support, and hold people accountable
* Understanding of workflow, project documentation, and operational handovers
* Practical WHS and safety leadership
* Confident with digital tools (Google Suite, Xero; D‑Tools ideal)
* Detail‑focused, steady under pressure, proactive problem solver
Key Areas of Responsibility
Operational Leadership, Systems & Delivery
Purpose: Ensure seamless, consistent, and scalable project and service delivery through strong operational management, clear processes, and efficient systems across all business units and locations.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily operations across Noosa, Brisbane, and Focal Glow
* Lead project delivery end‑to‑end
* Manage scheduling, workflow, and documentation accuracy
* Maintain and improve processes, systems, and communication
* Drive consistent use of D‑Tools and operational systems
People Leadership, Performance & Culture
Purpose: Lead support and continue to build a high‑performing operations team while maintaining a positive, collaborative, and accountable culture.
Responsibilities:
* Lead Project Managers, Logistics, Technicians, Programmers, Service, and operational support teams.
* Run coaching, reviews, and capability development
* Support recruitment and onboarding
* Build a cohesive, accountable culture across sites
WHS, Risk & Compliance
Purpose: Ensure safe, compliant, and disciplined operational practices across all sites, aligning with legal and client expectations.
Responsibilities:
* Own WHS across all business units
* Ensure compliance on all job sites
* Conduct inductions, audits, toolbox talks, and incident reporting
* Promote practical, effective, and meaningful WHS behaviours
Financial Accountability
Purpose: Ensure operational decisions support job profitability, effective cost control, and strong financial performance across the operations function.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor job costing, labour utilisation, and margins
* Ensure accurate milestone updates and timely invoicing
* Manage stock control and procurement approvals
* Provide operational insights to Finance and the MD
Customer Experience & Supplier Relationships
Purpose: Set and maintain the standards for a predictable, proactive, and high‑quality customer experience across all operational touchpoints. Establish and nurture strong supplier relationships that support reliable delivery, effective negotiations, and commercial value.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain high communication standards for clients
* Support smooth handovers between teams
* Resolve escalated issues and drive improvements
* Maintain strong supplier relationships
