Open Pit Mine Geologist
With exciting growth happening across our operations, we are now looking for an experienced Open Pit Mine Geologist to join our team at the Mungari Operations.
Responsibilities
* Perform detailed geological mapping and sampling.
* Perform ore spotting when requested, regularly communicating with the mining team to optimise ore extraction.
* Supervise grade control and resource development drilling programs and ensure that QAQC is maintained.
* Assist with the management of the Castle Hill open pit mining contractor, the ROM‐to‐ROM haulage contractor and geological drilling contractors.
* Visit ROM pads daily to accurately reconcile stockpiles and ore movement tracking. Oversee daily mine production data entry and tracking, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all reports to key stakeholders and assist with EOM reconciliations and stockpile balances.
* Assisting the Senior Geologist and Project Geologist, where requested, in the design and coordination of geological drilling activities to provide appropriate data for low‐risk mine design and scheduling.
About You

You will be either a resident of the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area, or FIFO from Perth working an 8:6 (12‐hour day) roster, Thursday to Thursday.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in geology or geosciences.
* 2–3 years industry experience in mine geology and grade control practices, preferably in an open‐pit environment.
* A sound understanding of grade control processes.
* Drilling contractor management experience an advantage.
* A sound understanding of geology work standards and practices including grade control processes and relevant sections of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
* Intermediate skills with modelling software (Datamine, Leapfrog or similar) and database software (acQuire or similar), with OrePro3D skills an advantage.
* Experienced in technical report writing, with strong attention to detail and problem‐solving abilities, comfortable with working to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
