Chisholm is seeking an experienced STEAM Education Leader for our Frankston Tech School.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Frankston Tech School aims to prepare students for the jobs of the future, equip them with the skills to thrive in a digital world, and inspire them to create a better future for themselves and their communities. Frankston Tech School is hosted on the Frankston campus of Chisholm Institute and is funded by the Victorian Department of Education.

The Director is responsible for engaging, influencing and embedding the Tech School to be in service of the local Frankston partnership of Government, Independent and Catholic secondary schools. Managing compliance, business, human resources, governance, curriculum and reporting, the Director collaborates and consults with the Department of Education, Chisholm Leadership Group and Frankston Tech School Committee to ensure success.

Your key accountabilities will be to :

* Create and implement business plans, ensuring budget objectives and milestones are met and reported to the key lead organisations the Department of Education, Frankston Tech School Committee and Chisholm Institute.
* Develop strategic partnerships with industry, community and other educational organisations that enable learners to pursue enhanced pathways and create innovative educational programs that anticipate future workforce needs of STEAM industries, locally, nationally and globally.
* Lead the Tech School team to deliver on Tech School and Chisholm performance objectives for positive student, industry and community outcomes.
* Effectively lead a high performing business area by fostering a culture of accountability, productivity, continuous improvement, customer centric and educational excellence.
* Collaborate with the Department of Education, Frankston Tech School Committee and the Institute to manage the establishment, design and implementation of the facility.
* Ensure strict operational and strategic compliance with all criteria from the Department of Education’s Tech Schools Performance Evaluation Framework.

ABOUT YOU

You have a deep commitment to working with schools, community groups, industry, advisory committees and governance structures to achieve strategic and operational objectives for connecting young people with the future world of work, including consultation, engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders.

Crucial to your success will be deep knowledge of contemporary pedagogies in education delivery and program development in STEAM education.

With a proven depth of experience in STEAM education and connections with real-world industries, you have demonstrated development of innovative educational delivery models that target and meet current and future needs of students, clients and industry.

Your exceptional people leadership and management skills are supported by your excellent written and verbal communication skills and understanding of financial management principles.

Qualifications required for the role :

You will have a graduate degree level qualification (or higher) in Education and / or Graduate level qualifications (or higher) in either Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Mathematics. It is desirable that you have a qualification in any of either, Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing, Renewable and Clean Energy industries, and / or in Vocational Education and Training.
