The role of the maintenance planner is a critical position that oversees and manages the upkeep of mining equipment and infrastructure to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Develop detailed preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for underground equipment.
* Utilize CMMS systems to track tasks and maintenance history.
* Create, assign, and track work orders.
* Prioritize tasks based on equipment criticality, production requirements, and safety concerns.
* Ensure availability of parts, materials, tools, and skilled labour before scheduling jobs.
* Liaise with warehouse/supply chain for procurement and inventory control.
* Work closely with maintenance supervisors, tradespeople, and mining operations staff to align schedules and resolve conflicts.
* Provide technical support and ensure compliance with site-specific safety regulations.
* Analyze equipment downtime, failure trends, and maintenance data to improve reliability.
* Implement condition monitoring and proactive strategies to reduce unplanned breakdowns.
* Ensure maintenance activities comply with guidelines.
* Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections.
