Merit List or Pool
Applicants suitable for the role but not offered the position for the current vacancy may be placed in a merit list or pool. The Senior Data Analyst collaborates across teams to translate data into clear, meaningful information, products, and services that deliver business outcomes. The role contributes to DAI's vision to deliver timely, accurate, and actionable products and trusted insights that are easily understood and acted on by stakeholders.
Working under limited direction, the role exercises sound judgement, applies specialist expertise, manages competing priorities, and contributes to a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement. The outcomes empower the Commission to manage risk and ensure older Australians receive quality care.
Key Duties
- Manage data extraction, analysis, and modelling for data-driven decision making and reporting.
- Coordinate and manage data, analytics, and intelligence projects, consulting stakeholders and internal teams to define requirements and deliver outcomes.
- Present data in clear, consistent, and accessible formats, including dashboards, reports, briefing papers, and visualisations tailored to audience needs.
- Ensure integrity and quality of datasets, maintain and support data governance standards, and contribute to improving policies and procedures related to data management.
- Foster productive working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients by consulting, sharing information, and collaborating to achieve shared goals.
- Support data literacy and capability development, providing guidance, training, and support for emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines, showing initiative and resilience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Apply strategic thinking, alignment with agency goals, and sound judgment to solve problems.
- Focus on achievement, delivering high-quality outcomes, managing projects effectively, and adapting well to change.
- Demonstrate collaboration, building strong relationships, managing diverse views, and supporting team development.
- Uphold integrity and drive, embracing accountability, and pursuing continuous growth.
- Communicate effectively, conveying information and concepts clearly, tailoring messages to audiences, and negotiating persuasively.
- Obtain a security clearance (baseline) or have the ability to obtain one.
Notes
- Salary: $96,503 - $108,869 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus 15.4% superannuation.
- Only Australian citizens can apply. Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check.
- Non-ongoing opportunity for an irregular/intermittent term, up to 12 months, with the option to extend to 24 months.
- A merit pool may be established to fill this or future vacancies.
