Fleet Administrator, Geelong Based, Gov Role, 6 Month Contract - Possible Extension

A government organisation located in Geelong is seeking an experienced Fleet Administrator to join the team on an initial six‑month contract, with potential for extension. This organisation manages a diverse operational environment and requires additional support due to upcoming projects and ongoing asset lifecycle demands.
Your new role
This is a varied role responsible for oversight of a fleet of approximately 80 vehicles, including SUVs, vans, trucks, utes, mowers, trailers and operational buggies across multiple work sites.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting full vehicle lifecycle management including procurement, maintenance scheduling and disposal
* Coordinating fleet audits for compliance, operational efficiency and safety
* Working with leased and owned vehicles and assisting in the transition to a fully leased fleet model
* Analysing fleet performance data and preparing reports using MS Excel and internal reporting systems
* Developing, integrating and maintaining environmental performance metrics for fleet reporting
* Maintaining an accurate asset register, updating data as assets are acquired, renewed or condition changes occur
* Providing asset data to internal stakeholders and supporting the creation of new assets and updates across Brightly Assetic and Esri ArcGIS systems
* Collaborating with the GIS Officer to ensure accuracy and alignment across asset systems
* Preparing documentation and contributing to process improvement across both fleet and asset management functions
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience in fleet management or asset management within a complex operational environment
* Strong understanding of vehicle lifecycle management
* Demonstrated data analysis skills and confidence using MS Excel
* Experience undertaking audits and preparing compliance or performance reports
* Familiarity with asset management systems (experience with Assetic and ArcGIS highly regarded)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
* A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel across operational sites
