About the Role
As Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist, you will lead and drive documentation improvement initiatives to ensure best practices, patient safety, and accurate funding.
The position will work closely with clinical teams to provide expert advice, education, and training to achieve optimal documentation for accurate clinical coding.
* Utilise Australian first 3M CDI software, CDI Collaborate, to capture and report CDI workflows and impacts.
* Provide coding and funding related education and support to clinical managers and leaders.
* Coordinate daily review of inpatient medical records to proactively identify and manage documentation deficiencies.
* Collaborate with Health Information Services and senior coding team on documentation matters impacting quality and timeliness of coding.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of CDI initiatives to improve documentation quality and accuracy.
Work closely with clinical staff to provide guidance, education, and training on CDI best practices.
Monitor and report on CDI workflows and impacts using CDI software.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in CDI practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in clinical documentation improvement.
Strong knowledge of CDI software and workflows.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze complex data and make recommendations.
