The Role
Join the caring Health Room team at Coomera Anglican College and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
We are seeking a compassionate and confident Registered Nurse for casual relief shifts to support our vibrant Early Learning Centre – Year 12 community. This is a casual relief position, providing coverage for planned and unplanned staff absences (e.g. leave, illness, peak periods). Shifts will generally fall between 8:00am and 4:30pm during term time, with hours offered on an as-needed basis.

The Relief College Nurse, working collaboratively alongside our existing College Nurses, is responsible for delivering safe, professional and compassionate nursing care to students and, as required, staff and visitors. You will support the health, wellbeing and safety of our College community in alignment with the College’s Anglican ethos and strategic pillars.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide primary health care, triage and treatment for injuries and acute illness
* Assess and manage students with ongoing or complex medical needs (e.g. diabetes, anaphylaxis)
* Administer medications and emergency treatments in accordance with parental consent and legislation
* Maintain accurate and confidential student medical records
* Prepare and monitor first aid kits, including those for excursions and off-site activities
* Support the implementation of Emergency Action Plans
* Follow up Incident/Injury Reports in a timely manner
* Ensure the Health Room remains safe, hygienic and well-resourced
* Contribute positively to a collaborative and professional team environment
Qualifications and Requirements:
Essential:
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications
* Demonstrated professional and ethical nursing practice
* Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and triage skills
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
* Current First Aid and CPR certification
* Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate professional boundaries and standards when working with children and young people
Desirable:
* Experience in paediatric, community or school nursing
* Experience coordinating care plans and working with families
* Confidence using electronic record systems (school-based systems highly regarded)
