About the role
CURE CARE AUSTRALIA' is seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team in Caboolture South, Queensland. This is a casual role, offering flexibility to work around your schedule and commitments. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for individuals living with disabilities, providing compassionate and personalised care to help them achieve their goals and live independently.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
2. Facilitating engagement in social, recreational, and community-based activities to promote independence and social inclusion
3. Providing emotional support and companionship to clients, advocating for their needs and ensuring their wellbeing
4. Maintaining accurate records and documentation to track client progress and needs
5. Collaborating with the wider care team to develop and implement individualised support plans
What we're looking for
1. A current driver's licence and access to reliable transportation (desirable)
2. Experience with hoisting (desirable)
3. Experience with PEG feeding (desirable)
4. Experience in providing support services to individuals with disabilities, either in a professional or personal capacity
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
6. Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the independence and wellbeing of individuals living with disabilities
7. A relevant qualification in disability support, community services, or a related field (desirable) What we offer
