Job Description
The role of Tyre Maintenance Supervisor is to oversee the maintenance and repair of tyres at a mining site. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing safety and environmental plans, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
* Assist in developing and implementing tyre maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and extend tyre lifespan.
* Conduct regular inspections of tyres and equipment to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
* Manage tyre inventory and coordinate the purchase of replacement tyres.
* Lead a team of technicians in performing tyre removal, inspection, and fitting tasks.
* Develop and maintain accurate records of tyre maintenance activities, including costs and equipment conditions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A current and valid driver's licence.
* A mechanical trade certificate or tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
* Significant experience in removing, inspecting, and fitting earthmoving and off-the-road tyres in a mining environment.
* Strong competency in financial management and scheduling tools.
* Knowledge of coal mining safety and health regulations and industry standards.
* Certifications such as AURKTJ011, AURKTJ012, or Tyre Application Training.
* Proven experience leading and supervising a site-based maintenance team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to foster collaboration across teams.
