We urgently need an experienced roof repairs specialist to join our team. Are you a tiler and do you work with sheet metal roofing?
Requirements:
· Conduct pre‑start safety and risk assessments before commencing any work.
· Adhere strictly to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, including working at heights, manual handling, and hazardous materials.
· Ensure all work meets Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 2500, AS/NZS 3500 and relevant roofing codes.
· Take accurate site measurements to determine materials and job requirements.
· Read and interpret roof plans, drawings, and specifications.
· Identify damaged tiles, structural components, and roofing materials requiring for repair or replacement.
· Diagnose and repair roof leaks, gutter overflows, and storm‑water blockages.
· Remove and re bed ridge caps, applying new mortar compounds.
· Re point ridge caps using flexible mortar to ensure long‑lasting sealing.
· Remove damaged tiles with minimal disturbance and relocate existing tiles for aesthetic blending.
· Remove old pointing or bedding from valley irons, flashings, and affected tiles without causing damage.
· Repair or replace damaged valley‑section structural components.
· Replace damaged roof sheets, flashings, and plumbing fixtures to extend roof life.
· Fabricate and install valley flashings.
· Lay roof tiles to correct design, gauge, alignment, and bond specifications.
· Measure and cut tiles around chimneys, skylights, vents, and other penetrations.
· Install sheet‑metal roofing, cladding, metal flashings, box gutters, fascia, valleys, downpipes, and leaf‑guard systems.
· Form and fit penetrations (vents, skylights, solar brackets) with correct flashing and sealing.
· Construct and work on a wide range of tile and metal roof systems, including gable, hip, hip‑and‑valley, Dutch gable, gusset valley, butt ridging, and dog‑leg valley designs on both metal and timber battens and frames.
· Set out and install rainwater tanks.
· Connect storm‑water drainage systems in accordance with AS/NZS 3500.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Minimum 1-2 years' experience on tiles and metal sheet roofs.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
· Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
· Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
· White Card - Construction Industry
· Working at Heights Certificate
· Valid Driver's Licence
