THE MISSION
The R&D Technologist Fillings and Decors is responsible for leading R&D projects related to the product categories of Fruit Fillings, Cream Fillings & Decors. This includes all projects related to innovation, renovation, tailor made projects, process-production improvements, cost reduction.
This role, is a key driver in the business development in the country by supporting the local sales force, including direct support to customers for the implementation of the developed products.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS
Lead new product development
Drive innovation through the development of new products and concepts, related to the filling and decors category, in line with local market needs and for all customer segments. Drive tailor made projects for large accounts.
Provide R&D support to production
Support feasibility studies, implementation and validation of new production lines in the factory or at customers. Provide R&D support for technical, quality issues and cost reduction initiatives.
Assure training and technical support to the business development team (sales, marketing) and customers
Active networking and technological leadership
Interact with Regional & Global R&D Fillings and Decors in order to be updated on the latest Group Strategic and International Innovations & Technologies.
Stay updated on technological evolutions by maintaining an active network with suppliers and other partners.
Regulatory compliance, IP protection and data management
Ensure that all technical data linked to products are updated and comply with food legislation: technical data sheets, ingredient declaration, formulas.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Internal Relationships: Sales, Marketing, Operation (Production/Quality/Engineering), Process Experts and R&D Managers from Regional and Group R&D teams.
External Relationships: Customers, Suppliers, Technology Platforms, Universities & Schools.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Experience in related industry will be an advantage
3-7 years of R&D/technical experience
Knowledge on starch, hydrocolloids, and baked goods
Professional fluency in English is required for both written and verbal communication.
Food science, engineer or related background

Salary range: 90.000-100.000 AUD (depending on experience) + Superannuation + Bonus
