XO Sports
Marketing Analyst
Posted: 15 June
Offer description

XO Sports is a next-generation, AI-powered sports technology platform delivering data‐driven insights, predictive analytics, and a world‐class mobile‐first experience for sports fans and bettors globally.

Following successful launches in Australia and the US, we are rapidly scaling across major sporting leagues including the NBA, MLB, WNBA, NFL and other global sports. As part of our early team, you will play a key role in building and shaping a product used by a growing global audience.

At XO Sports, we're a collaborative, results‐driven group where innovation, accountability, and teamwork are core to how we operate. You'll work alongside seasoned leaders in technology, AI, and sports analytics, contributing directly to products that reach and influence sports fans worldwide.

Our vision is bold: to empower the world to win through cutting‐edge predictive analytics and AI tools that genuinely put the odds back in users' favour. Every team member plays a meaningful role in delivering that vision, and we believe your expertise, leadership, and passion for building impactful systems will help take XO Sports to the next level.

The Role

XO Sports is hiring a backend‐focused digital marketing analyst to own the analytical backbone of our mobile subscription business.

This is not a generic marketing analyst role. We need someone who can sit at the intersection of subscription revenue, attribution, product analytics, paywall performance, campaign measurement and data integrity. You will work across Qonversion or RevenueCat, Mixpanel and AppsFlyer to help us understand exactly where users come from, what they do in the app, which plans convert, which cohorts retain, which campaigns produce profitable subscribers, and where revenue is leaking.

The right person will be analytical, commercially sharp and technically comfortable. You should be able to diagnose data discrepancies, build reliable dashboards, interpret subscription funnels, recommend plan and pricing experiments, and explain findings clearly to marketing, product, engineering and leadership.

* 1) High ownership (acts like a founder)
o Sees problems, builds solutions for them and drives them into the next release
o Takes responsibility for outcomes and takes pride in getting it done
* 2) Comfortable with ambiguity
o Can work with incomplete requirements
o Asks the right questions, then designs the outcome with compliance front of mind
o Doesn't freeze when priorities change
* 3) Bias to action + speed with pragmatic engineering judgement
o Ships small improvements constantly
o Prefers iteration over perfect plans
o Keeps performance, reliability, speed and cost in balance and knows when "good enough" is correct and when to turn "good enough" to "great"
o Understands users, not just code
o Optimises for customer impact, not elegance
o Can explain "why this matters"
* 5) Strong communication (especially async)
o Writes clearly (PRs, docs, updates)
o Can disagree without drama, can present alternative views happily
o Keeps stakeholders aligned
* 6) Quality mindset without "process addiction"
o Tests what matters
o Uses analytics and monitoring to identify code or performance drift
o Doesn't let bugs pile up
* 7) Strong sense of priorities
o Focuses on the highest leverage work
o Avoids overbuilding
o Knows how to say "no" to distractions
Key ResponsibilitiesSubscription & Revenue Analytics
* End‐to‐End Lifecycle Ownership: Analyze the full subscription funnel, including free‐to‐trial, trial‐to‐paid, renewals, churn, refunds, and plan/pricing performance.
* Commercial Insights: Translate subscription data into actionable commercial recommendations and growth strategies, not just static reports.
* Unit Economics: Track and optimize core business metrics including LTV, CAC, ROAS, payback periods, and cohort revenue.
Platform Ownership & Attribution
* Qonversion OR RevenueCat & AppsFlyer Expert: Own subscription events, attribution integrity, and revenue reporting across mobile platforms.
* Data Reconciliation: Investigate and resolve data discrepancies across Qonversion, app stores, AppsFlyer, and internal systems.
* Campaign & Channel Performance: Connect acquisition sources to downstream subscription revenue; identify high‐value campaigns and eliminate vanity metrics.
* Advanced Attribution: Manage SKAdNetwork (SKAN)/iOS attribution reporting and effectively navigate its limitations.
Product & Funnel Analytics (Mixpanel)
* Funnel Optimization: Build and analyze full‐funnel journeys from install and onboarding to paywall views and paid conversions.
* Behavioral Cohorting: Create advanced user cohorts to analyze product retention, churn risks, and behaviors that correlate with high‐value subscribers.
Requirements

* Subscription analytics, including trials, renewals, churn, refunds, LTV and payback
* Qonversion, RevenueCat, Apphud, Purchasely or a similar subscription platform
