About the Role
This role involves supporting clients in their own homes as well as accompanying clients out in the community. Our person-centred approach aims to significantly improve the lives of those we support. We are seeking people who are passionate about supporting people to enhance their lives and independence, have experience in Safe Manual Handling, have experience in dealing with Challenging Behaviours, understands BOC's and to follow Positive Behaviour Support strategies to provide the best possible support to a Participant.
Candidates who have Qualification in Mental Health or equivalent experience in Mental Health or Positive Behaviour Support Strategies would be more suitable for this role. There are multiple positions available which ranges for short hours (3-5) to long hours (6-9), Afternoon shifts, weekend shifts ,Evening shifts, and shifts available between school hours.
Support Workers will be responsible for:
* Providing individual support to people that are aged, have a disability and/or psycho-social needs enabling them to undertake all aspects of daily living in order to achieve their day-to-day goals.
* Assistance with personal care including medication assistance.
* Support with domestic tasks
* Social Support including shopping, accompanying people to appointments and engaging in social activities.
* Support individual in improving their daily living skills.
* Write shift notes after each appointment onto the CRM system.
The successful candidate is required to meet the following minimum requirements:
* Cert III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent
* Qualification in Mental Health or equivalent experience.
* NDIS Worker screening check or the immediate ability to apply.
* Working with Children Check (or the ability to attain one)
* Valid driver's license
* Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
* First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain)
* Previous work experience providing community support
* Be highly organised, flexible and reliable with the ability to respond to last minute shifts
* Proactive approach and the ability to work independently
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
