**Employment Status**: Permanent, full time.
**38 hours per week**: Shift times will vary, in accordance with a scheduled roster. Requirement for participation in regular rostered weekend patrols. Rostered day off every four weeks.
**Band Level**: Band 5 ranging from $80,620.19 - $94,064.65 p.a depending on experience - plus 11.5% superannuation. Commuter use vehicle included.
**Location**- Based at Sandringham.

**About the Role**:
Bayside City Council is looking for a Local Laws Officer to contribute to the safety and amenity of the municipality. This role will contribute to the safety and amenity of the municipality through the provision of information, assistance and advice to the community, and through the enforcement of relevant legislation.

You will be responsible for:

- Investigating complaints
- Undertaking inspections
- Impounding animals
- Issuing infringements
- Preparing briefs of evidence

**Key Selection Criteria**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

- A Certificate IV level qualification in Statutory Compliance or Animal Welfare, or experience in a similar role is essential and knowledge of relevant legislation.
- High level time management skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders in a confident and professional manner.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in relation to Council's Local Laws.

**Mandatory pre-employment requirements**:

- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
- A pre-employment Medical Check.
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
