Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled
PHP Backend Engineer
with
hands-on, production-level experience
in PHP (PHP 7 & PHP 8) to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in
Symfony
, backend API development, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and modern backend technologies.
This role requires deep backend expertise—not just theoretical knowledge or exposure.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain
backend services and APIs
using
PHP (7 & 8)
and
Symfony
* Build and consume
RESTful APIs
for web and service-based applications
* Develop efficient and scalable
SQL queries
and database schemas
* Integrate
services where required for backend workflows
* Implement caching and performance optimization using
Redis
* Work with
AWS services
to deploy, monitor, and scale applications
* Implement and maintain
Elasticsearch
for search, indexing, and analytics
* Ensure performance, security, and scalability of backend systems
* Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions
* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a strong focus on root cause analysis
Required Technical Skills
Must-Have Skills (Hands-on Experience Required)
* PHP
(PHP 7 & PHP 8 — real-world project experience required)
* Symfony Framework
* SQL (MySQL / PostgreSQL or equivalent)
* API Development
(RESTful services, authentication, authorization)
* Redis
(Caching, session handling, performance tuning)

(Indexing, querying, optimization)

* System performance tuning and scalability best practices
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
* Strong understanding of backend system design and architecture
* Proven hands-on experience working on
production-grade PHP applications
* Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
* Experience working in
onshore teams
and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
