Reporting to the Superintendent Project Readiness and Delivery, you will:Manage work packages from design through to execution and closeoutProactively engage with other project team members to resolve safety, technical, performance, scope, cost and schedule issues.Ensure delivery of planned works aligns with RTIO standards and manage quality assurance deliverables.Demonstrate safety leadership in the field, engaging in Critical Risk Management ensuring the highest HSEC standards are being met at all times.Coordinate Technical Queries with consultants (providing technical and site experience/input) and/or engineering subject matter experts.Provide asset management expertise and project management discipline to all project stages on behalf of the business owner, to identify preparatory activities that safely deliver effective systems of work, competent people and reliable assets.Provide input on equipment selection and functionality to maintain standardization of component across RTIO.Develop business case to justify any project inclusions or omissions improving project outcomes.Collaborate with engineering on constructability and design issues including quality, safety, program, and coordination issues and escalate appropriately.Maintain records and documentation related to the project.Organize site project works and liaise with Project Leaders and stakeholders.Identify and contribute to continuous improvement activities and apply lessons learned.Support the broader project readiness team with project management support.What we are offering to youDiverse role with a multi-disciplined teamProject and Engineering exposure to the world’s first autonomous heavy haul railwayDiscounted Health cover scheme for you and immediate familyEmbedded benefits including Military LeaveExtensive salary sacrifice and packaging optionsGenerous Rio Tinto employee share programWhat you'll bringTo succeed in this role, you will have:3-5 years' work experience on mining, military or infrastructure projectsKnowledge of all aspects of asset management and engineering processesKnowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation) and project site activities and experience as a member of a small to medium-sized project’s management teamUnderstanding of RTIO Management of Change (MoC) systemUnderstanding of all relevant obligations, regulations and statutory standardsExposure to risk management and business improvement methodologiesWell-developed people influencing, engagement and communication skillsProven ability in safety leadership in the mining or relevant industryCapability to write conclusive reports and create documents presenting requirements and developed plans, strategies and approachesComputer literacy and proficiency in the suite of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel and WordA tertiary qualification in a relevant field e.g. mechanical/electrical engineering or project managementCurrent Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's License (Manual)Where you’ll be workingIn the Pilbara region of Western Australia, Rio Tinto operates the world's largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets with industry-leading margins.
