About Your New Role
The Principal Transport Systems Analyst position combines technological innovation with strategic planning to enhance the effectiveness and resilience of the Gold Coast's transport network. This role drives performance improvements and safety by leveraging Intelligent Transport System (ITS) solutions, applying advanced data analytics and increasing network awareness.
As a key contributor to the planning, design and operational deployment of ITS technology, the role will lead technology adoption, program development and the delivery of ITS initiatives. This position combines hands-on technical expertise in ITS engineering with a strong focus on data-driven analysis and reporting.
* Design, develop and implement ITS technology to improve transport efficiency and safety.
* Lead complex ITS projects, including traffic management, road network operations and transport technology integration.
* Lead the development of the ITS Strategy, supporting policies and standards in alignment with state and federal guidelines.
* Provide expert technical advice on ITS technologies, system architecture and future innovations.
* Coordinate with stakeholders such as government agencies, transport operators and technical teams to ensure ITS solutions align with organisational and community needs.
* Analyse transport data and system performance to optimise ITS operations and recommend improvements.
* Manage documentation, testing and commissioning of ITS hardware and software solutions.
We're Looking For People Who Have
* Bachelor's degree or higher relevant to the position (e.g. engineering) or equivalent industry experience.
* Demonstrated experience in planning, designing and managing Intelligent Transport Systems or relevant transport technology projects.
* Strong technical knowledge of ITS components such as traffic signal systems, communications networks, sensors and control systems.
* Unrestricted 'C' Class Drivers Licence.
