About Us
At The HeartScreen, we’re reshaping access to cardiac care by delivering diagnostics directly into GP clinics, aged care facilities, community settings, and hospitals across Queensland – including regional and rural areas.
Our mission is simple: make preventative heart health accessible, timely, and patient-centered.
We are a progressive and fast-growing company, committed to innovation and the future of preventative healthcare in Australia. Joining us means stepping into a unique role with significant career growth opportunities, as we expand services across the state and partner with health leaders to shape a new standard in cardiac care.
The Role
This isn’t your typical sonographer role. It’s a chance to combine your clinical skills with a sense of purpose, variety, and flexibility.
As a Cardiac Sonographer with The HeartScreen, you’ll:
- Deliver high-quality echocardiograms in a mobile clinic model, attending GP practices, aged care facilities, community clinics, and hospitals.
- Experience the excitement of outreach work, with occasional short trips to regional and rural communities (flights, accommodation, and logistics fully covered).
- Enjoy a role that blends local metro work with occasional travel — typically 1–2 days at a time, never permanent.
- Be supported by a dedicated operations team who handle bookings, logistics, and administration, so you can focus on scanning and patient care.
- Work in an organisation where your contribution is visible, your career growth is unlimited, and you’re helping redefine how Australians access cardiac care.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) to a high diagnostic standard.
- Conduct stress echocardiograms.
- Assist with fitting and analysis of Holter monitors and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidence during procedures.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in collaboration with reporting cardiologists.
- Operate and maintain portable ultrasound equipment.
About You
You thrive in a role that combines technical expertise with meaningful patient connection across diverse healthcare settings. You’re motivated by the opportunity to be part of something progressive and impactful, with the freedom to grow your career in step with a company that’s rapidly expanding.
Essential:
- Accredited with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
- Postgraduate qualifications in cardiac sonography.
- Demonstrated experience in stress echocardiography.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
- Professional indemnity insurance.
- Be an Australian Citizen or hold permanent residency.
Desirable:
- Previous mobile, community, or outreach healthcare experience.
- Willingness to travel to regional and rural communities on occasion.
