The Opportunity
South West Healthcare (SWH) is offering ACEM trainees a unique opportunity to undertake a **dedicated 6-month Anaesthetics rotation** with exposure to both elective and emergency surgical lists. For suitable candidates, **12-month contracts** may be considered, combining a **6-month Emergency Medicine term**.
Our Emergency Department
\~27,000 presentations annually (20% admission rate) Tier 2, non-major referral site **Accredited for 24 months of ACEM training**, including the **paediatric logbook** (>5,000 paediatric cases per year) **Regional trauma centre**, managing road, farm, and industrial trauma
You’ll also work alongside supportive **FACEMs, GP anaesthetists, nurse practitioners, and consultants** in subspecialties including O\&G, psychiatry, ICU, plastics, orthopaedics, geriatrics, surgery and general medicine.
Position Overview
**Employment Type**: Full-time (86 hours/fortnight), Fixed Term **Rotation Dates**: 2 Feb 2026 – 2 Aug 2026 3 Aug 2026 – 31 Jan 2027 **Location**: Warrnambool Campus (with some travel to other campuses) **Salary**: \$129,000 – \$175,000 pro rata + super (commensurate with experience)
