Your new role
As an APS5 Administration Officer, you will deliver high-quality administrative and client support services within a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing shared inboxes and responding to email and phone enquiries, providing accurate policy and procedural advice.
* Receiving and processing application forms, updating internal systems, and ensuring compliance with established processes.
* Liaising with internal stakeholders and external service providers to progress administrative workflows.
* Coordinating sensitive external checks and preparing documentation for delegate approval.
* Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and contributing to process improvements.
* Assisting team leaders with projects related to policy and operational processes.
* Providing broader support across the section as required.
What you'll need to succeed
* Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and sound judgement.
* Ability to interpret policy and deliver professional client service.
* Demonstrated initiative and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Experience in managing high volumes of enquiries and processing applications is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework and a Cert III or IV in Government will be well regarded.
Please note: This is a security-designated position. You must hold a current Australian Government NV1 Security Clearance prior to commencement.
