A rare opportunity has arisen for a seasoned professional to showcase their leadership skills and put their stamp on the Food & Beverage Operations at Cairns Harbourside Hotel.
As the Restaurant & Bar Manager, you will oversee operations of our Food and Beverage outlets at Harbourside Bar and Kitchen, lead our Conference and Events offering and develop the F&B Team.
A bit about the role…
This is a hands-on role, reporting to the Operations Manager and General Manager. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Drive & deliver HB&K's strong emphasis on a 'paddock to plate' & 'vineyard to glass' philosophy.
* Manage the day-to-day F&B operations of the Hotel including: Harbourside Bar & Kitchen, In-Room Dining & Conference/Events/Banqueting Operations.
* Drive team engagement, guest feedback & problem resolution along with brand & cleanliness standards.
* Manage relationships with external suppliers for product and service deliveries.
* Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, federal, state, and local government regulations.
* Champion all hotel policies and procedures and be a leader for workplace safety culture.
* Monitor and manage the food and beverage department's stock, inventory and ordering whilst establishing budgetary controls.
* Genuinely engage with our guests providing timely, attentive and professional service.
* Ensure accuracy and efficiency with all administration and reporting tasks.
* Implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
* Maintain a robust training focus and positive team culture.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to achieve positive guest outcomes.
A bit about you…
You have proven experience as a Manager in a hospitality setting. You also possess the following skills and experience:
* 2+ years' experience in a similar role in a hotel or standalone venue
* You are Articulate – a great communicator, you'll be confident, professional and constructive.
* You are a Leader- You are positive and approachable, and lead by example bringing an abundance of Industry experience.
* You are Adaptable- You thrive in a multi-paced environment where no two days are the same and problem solve with ease.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Flexible to work weekends & evenings across a 7-day roster
* Certifications required - Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Handler.
* You must meet the legal requirements to live work in Australia.
