Byron Shire Council invites an enthusiastic Economic Development Officer to support and facilitate a sustainable economy through delivery of economic development and tourism related projects and services that create inclusive places locals love, businesses and industry thrive and visitors crave.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement and regularly review strategies and activities, in consultation with key stakeholders, that support a vibrant economy, including a Vibrant Economic Strategy, Business and Industry Action Plan, Events Action Plan, Night‐Time Economy Action Plan, Visitor Economy Action Plan, and destination marketing and branding.
* Liaise, collaborate and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders such as government agencies, businesses and industry associations.
* Apply high‐level interpersonal skills, including effective communication through a variety of channels.
* Remain informed of current policy, legislative frameworks and emerging trends and issues of other levels of government.
* Undertake research, analyse complex information and produce professional reports and presentations to a range of audiences.

Location
This position is based in Mullumbimby; Council may require you to work from other sites as operationally required.
