About the role
The GP‐Journalist researches, interviews and writes daily newsGP articles, shaping content that supports GPs in practice. Reporting to the Editor, they manage story development, maintain key stakeholder relationships, and contribute to editorial direction.
This is a permanent, part‐time position with 15.2 working hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Pitch, research, interview for, and write news, feature and profile articles for newsGP.
* Translate complex medical and healthcare information into clear, accessible copy while meeting strict deadlines.
* Offer professional GP insights to enhance the relevance and quality of content, contributing to editorial direction.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective content delivery.
Skills & Experience
* Qualified GP or registrar with strong writing skills.
* Clear communicator able to simplify complex information.
* Strong insight into GP practice and healthcare issues.
* Builds effective relationships with key stakeholders.

We deliver training through community‐based models, including the Australian General Practice Training Program, to equip GPs for whole‐person care.
