As a Chaplain-Aged Care, you'll be the heart of gospel-centred care and practical support in —connecting deeply with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Through meaningful one-on-one relationships and community and aged care will make a huge impact, you'll offer help for today and hope for tomorrow.
Your Opportunity
You'll be based in Nowra at the Jean Rouse House, becoming a familiar and trusted presence, while also collaborating closely with stakeholders which includes Anglicare, and other services to amplify the impact of your care and ministry. This role is a Maximum Term Part-Time position, 3 days per week (22.8 hours) and is not to be missed.
With integrity and compassion, you will:
* Build relationships with low socio-economic and cross-cultural cohorts through home visits, refugee referrals, 1:1 meetings, and community events.
* Serve and show practical love through these connections.
* Develop ministries that address isolation, loneliness, and social disconnection.
* Connect individuals with Anglicare and other services to improve access and support.
* Support the establishment of new Anglicare services as needed.
* Organise training, evangelistic courses, or events that welcome marginalised community members.
* Seek discipling opportunities and equip church members to engage in community care.
* Run life skills courses at the church or other suitable locations.
* Act as a bridge for marginalised people into the church community.
What you'll bring
* A strong personal and active Christian faith is essential.
* A humble, teachable, and servant-hearted character.
* Creativity and initiative in implementing new ideas.
* A love for and willingness to learn from other cultures.
* Reformed and evangelical theological convictions.
* A gospel-centred, Bible-based, relational ministry philosophy.
* A heart for all-ages, cross-cultural, and intergenerational ministry.
* Sound theological understanding and ability to communicate the gospel cross-culturally.
* Theological qualifications (or working toward them) from a Reformed, Evangelical Bible college.
* Experience in pastoral ministry across diverse cultures.
* Willingness to undertake pastoral care training with Anglicare.
* Strong leadership, communication, relational, and administrative skills.
* A current Working with Children Check clearance or willingness to obtain one.
Anglicare Requirements & Support
* Attend regular professional supervision sessions.
* Participate in Anglicare professional development days and training modules.
* Monthly check-ins with the Community Chaplaincy Manager.
* Quarterly meetings with other Community Chaplains.
* Annual attendance at Anglicare Chaplaincy Day.
* Submit quarterly reports to Anglicare Supervisor and Chester Hill Anglican Parish Council.
