Our team is seeking an experienced and highly specialized Senior Project Engineer for a critical 6-month contract role, with a strong view to extend. This position is focused on leading the engineering activities for essential power supply systems and High Voltage (HV) infrastructure within a major project.
We require a technical leader capable of driving complex design, compliance, and site support across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading all engineering activities related to power supply systems, including substations, feeders, and HV cabling networks.
* Developing, reviewing, and approving technical specifications, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
* Ensuring all work adheres strictly to relevant standards (e.g., IEC, AS/NZS) and specific project requirements.
* Managing the technical interface between electrical systems and other project disciplines (e.g., Civil, Signalling, Communications).
* Overseeing and supporting the installation, testing, and commissioning of HV equipment and cabling on-site.
* Providing expert technical support to the Construction Manager throughout the construction phase.
* Conducting detailed risk assessments and ensuring strict adherence to project safety and quality standards.
* Liaising with stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to promptly resolve complex technical issues.
* Monitoring project progress, reporting on key milestones, and supporting delivery within budget and schedule parameters.
Skills and Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Engineer managing the delivery of High Voltage (HV) power supply projects.
* Deep technical knowledge of HV cabling networks, substations, and electrical feeder systems.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and review technical specifications and engineering documentation.
* Expertise in relevant Australian and International standards (e.g., AS/NZS, IEC).
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
