Design, build and manage enterprise BI dashboards, data models and applications that power clinical and operational insights across a leading health district.

Remuneration: $132,236 - $150,222 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38

Where you’ll be working
You will be based at Westmead Hospital, one of Australia’s largest and most dynamic healthcare precincts, within Western Sydney Local Health District. This role sits within the Business Analytics and Systems team, supporting critical data and reporting capabilities used across clinical and corporate services.

What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will design, develop and maintain advanced reporting solutions and business applications that support the district’s data and performance frameworks, including activity-based funding and operational analytics.


* Develop BI reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, SQL Reporting Services and Qlik

* Design and manage SQL databases, data models and web applications supporting business needs

* Lead migration and redevelopment of dashboards into modern Power BI environments

* Manage the full software development lifecycle including testing, validation and deployment

* Provide technical expertise, system support and innovative analytics solutions for stakeholders

How to Apply

* Relevant qualifications in Information Technology and/or proven experience in complete development life cycle design of BI Dashboard & Reports including requirements gathering, design, development, test, delivery & maintenance, preferably in a Healthcare environment.

* Proven ability to develop complex information systems using various platforms including QlikView, QlikSense, Power BI, R Shiny or similar tools in a project determined timeframe. Desirable experience in using HL7 messaging technologies.

* Proven experience in advanced SQL programming including writing functions, views and stored procedures and interrogating large, complex datasets. Desirable experience using analytics technologies in Azure Cloud with data warehousing.

* Advanced system analysis and problem-solving skills, including experience in identifying and rectifying system faults within a minimum timeframe.

* Demonstrated advanced data analysis skills with experience in interpreting and presenting data to provide context to different audiences across the organisation.

* High level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills appropriate to an environment of change and evolution, including, excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders to facilitate group training and the development of documentation to improve data literacy.

* Demonstrated experience working in agile project teams and providing mentoring capability in team settings. Whilst having the ability to work productively with minimal supervision and prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
