About the headspace Townsville Service
The headspace Townsville service, under the leadership of Stride, delivers high-quality evidence-based clinical care to achieve better health outcomes for young people aged 12-25 years. Our multidisciplinary team supports young people in the Townsville region by providing support for mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drug use, and getting into work and study.
Evidence-Based Mental Health Treatments
We offer a range of evidence-based mental health and wellbeing treatments that cater to different needs, including:
* 'One-At-A-Time Supports': low-intensity brief interventions for young people who need only a few sessions to address current stressors or concerns.
* Moderate Intensity Therapy: medium-term individual and group therapy for young people who require more sessions to address specific concerns such as anxiety, depression, or other mental health difficulties.
* You Are Not Alone (YANA): a dedicated suicide prevention program that provides time-limited high-intensity interventions for young people experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
* Tern Program: a dedicated trauma program that provides recovery-focused long-term high-intensity interventions for young people who have experienced multiple traumas throughout their lives.
About the Opportunities
We are seeking passionate and experienced Clinical and General Psychologists, Accredited Mental Health Social Workers, and Mental Health Occupational Therapists to join our multidisciplinary team supporting people living with mental ill-health. As a Private Practitioner, your income will be derived directly from Medicare Bulk Billings, requiring eligibility to provide services under the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS - Better Access).
Role Overview
* Provide high-standard assessments, psychological support, counselling, and therapeutic interventions with 12-25 year-olds.
* Liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders.
* Communicate with a GP following sessions 1, 6, and 10.
* Be part of the innovative headspace model.
