About the opportunity:
At Shalom, you'll enjoy a prime location in North Rockhampton on the edge of a picturesque lagoon, a tranquil setting that inspires connection and care. In this position you will be preparing and serving high quality meals to our aged care residents, with a focus on nutrition, flavour, and dignity. This role allows you to have a positive impact on our residents' daily lives through thoughtful and enjoyable food experiences.
Your day-to-day will involve:
* Prepare high-quality, fresh meals that meet residents' dietary requirements and personal preferences.
* Collaborate with clinical and care staff to accommodate individual resident needs and uphold meal choice and nutrition standards.
* Provide support and guidance to kitchen staff, contributing to a positive and respectful team environment.
* Ensure kitchen cleanliness and always adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
About you:
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
* Experience with large volume food production, preferably fresh cook
* Knowledge of modified diets and food safety standards
* A compassionate, resident-focused approach
* Previous experience in Aged Care/Hospital kitchen is desirable
