About The Role
We are offering a rare opportunity for a Cost Control Engineer to join the team looking after a large scale gold mining project. Based out of our West Perth office this role is Monday to Friday with some adhoc site travel required.
In this role, you will:
* Ensure that records are kept of the progress of the works so that others can access and utilize them for contract administration purposes.
* Ensure the works are accurately measured and agree quantities with the client, providing interim quantities for progress claims.
* Track actual costs versus budgeted and tendered costs to assist the Commercial Superintendent in managing the project budget and cash flow.
* Perform cost analysis and earned budget analysis, identifying deviations and proposing mitigation actions.
* Review and validate cost estimates provided by contractors and suppliers.
* Seek to identify and achieve cost efficiencies and revenue opportunities, analysing purchasing requests and verifying cost allocation.
* Provide daily, weekly and monthly meeting reports and analysis.
About You
* Bachelor degree in Engineering.
* Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in cost control or financial management.
* Extensive experience in managing large mining projects.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
