Performance & media assistant

Geelong
Hailey Donahoo Consulting
Posted: 12 December
Offer description

Position: Performance & Media Assistant
Hours: Part-time - 2 days per week to start (with room to grow as we grow)
Location: Barwon Heads (in-person —not WFH)
Days: Flexible (ideally 2 of Monday, Wednesday & Friday)

JJ's High Performance mission: bring AFL-standard training to local footballers and coaches. We've built an affordable, easy-to-use platform that's genuinely changing the game at the local level—covering pre-season, in-season performance, and off-season development.

Growth has been wild. In the last year alone, we've gone from a small setup to supporting over 1,000 players and building a community of 85K+ on Instagram (@jjshighperformance). We're now a team of 5 and moving fast.

Which is why we need you—our 6th team member. You'll work directly alongside Jack, taking as much off his plate as possible. If you love footy, strength & conditioning, and content—creating, filming, editing, and even jumping in front of the camera—this might just be your perfect gig.

What You'll Be Doing

A mix of programming support, content, problem-solving and getting sh*t done.

Programming Support

Ideally, you've got some strength and conditioning (S&C) background, but basic knowledge is fine. You'll assign Jack's programs, implement tweaks, and help players get what they need. Chat to players, onboard new athletes, answer enquiries, support coaches. You'll need to talk local footy confidently. Use iPhones, cameras, mics, lights, lenses—or be ready to learn quickly. You understand what looks good on camera.

Creating & Editing Content

Script ideas, plan concepts, and create content in line with JJ's brand—not reinventing it. Editing is huge: CapCut, Premiere, or whatever you know (or are willing to learn fast). Know Instagram, TikTok, Reels, trends and formats like the back of your hand.

Basic Marketing

Understanding how to grow a brand through social media and basic marketing tools (Klaviyo, LeadPages, etc). Or at minimum, you have the drive to pick this up quickly—properly.

Train & Support Players

Help run training sessions for players and clubs. Join drills, set up cones, time players, carry gear—whatever keeps things moving.

Appear in Content

No need to talk to camera (unless you want to). Expect B-roll of kicking, running, lifting, drills, etc.

Who We're Looking For

* Proactive: You don't wait around—you move.
* Strong physical capability to meet the demands of the role: You can kick a footy and have decent S&C capability.
* Problem Solver: If something breaks, changes or pops up, you figure it out.
* People Person: You'll speak with players, parents, coaches constantly.
* Tech Savvy: Cameras, apps, software—or fast learner energy.
* Attention to Detail: Absolutely critical. Seriously, this makes or breaks the role.
* Confident Communicator: You can chat footy on the phone with a coach without blinking.
* Happy to Do the Dirty Work: This isn't all filming at ovals—there's a lot of backend grind behind the scenes.

A bit about Jack (because you'll be working closely with him)

Jack is meticulous, passionate, and insanely driven. Every script, every piece of content, every bit of coaching knowledge you see online—that's his. He cares deeply about the brand, the athletes, the quality, and the standard.

We're looking for someone who shares those qualities: excellence-driven, passion, pride, and the willingness to go all in.

This role isn't for someone looking for "just a job." We want someone who:

* feels the highs and lows with us,
* invests themselves in helping grow this brand,
* wants to build something special—not just get paid.

This is not an ordinary job. If things keep progressing the way they are, you'll become an intricate part of the brand, with genuine room to grow your role, your hours, and your impact.

Extra Things to Know

* We're closed for 2 weeks over Christmas.
* Please don't contact us through socials (we want to keep the recruitment separate from the interaction with clubs and players)—reach out to Hailey (our HR consultant assisting with this role) directly for any questions – **************@gmail.com.
* This position is in-person only, no working from home (at this stage).
* You must be available to increase hours as the business grows.

Why Join Us?

We're building something seriously special—a brand, a platform, and a movement that's helping local footy players reach levels they didn't think were possible.

If you're passionate, creative, driven, and love the idea of combining footy, S&C, content and high-performance culture, you'll fit right in.

How to Apply

Submit a cover letter (why you're keen + how many hours/days you're after) and your resume via the Seek "Apply Now" button.

We can't wait to meet you.

Sorry, but if you do not reside in Australia there is no need to apply. We are not in a position to offer sponsored work permits.

Be careful—don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs. Don't transfer any money or complete suspicious online surveys. If you see something suspicious, report this job ad.
