Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a STEM Outreach Educator to join our Engineering People Development business unit and coordinate various STEM programs nationally. As a STEM Outreach Educator, you will mainly support the STEM and Engineering Engagement Lead, in the delivery of our STEM Education and Skills Strategies, to improve engagement within the local community and build a diverse pipeline of STEM talent. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to deliver programs across a variety of engineering disciplines. This role involves regular interstate travel to support the delivery of our National Programs. It is open to candidates based in any major city across Australia.
Key responsibilities
* Support the development and agreement on an overall STEM Plan, as a component of the overall Education and Skills strategy.
* Contribute to the STEM outreach strategy ensuring alignment with BAE Systems Australia strategic objectives
* Facilitate the development of STEM content and learning materials to support BAE Systems Australia STEM events, including the Work Experience Programs
* Develop and maintain STEM engagement policies, processes and procedures.
* Plan and deliver the onsite STEM Work Experience Programs nationally.
* Where required, assist other stakeholders across the business in the development of project/Business Unit funded work experience programs
* Coordinate day to day STEM Influencer activities
* Work closely with the Chief People Office (CPO), Communications Function and partner organisations to deliver effective and impactful STEM events
* Report on STEM outreach conduct and outcomes, such as participant demographics, frequency of engagement and the evaluation of events/programs
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Events Coordination, Training, Education or STEM would be highly regarded
* Experience coordinating work experience and/or training activities and events, involving contributors across multiple functions, teams of people and multiple locations
* A background in working with children, high school students and young professionals
* Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver quality outputs in a timely manner
* Ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences
* Ability to balance conflicting priorities, in consultation with line management, to deliver against business requirements
* A strong results orientation, resilience, and a positive approach to issues resolution
* Ability to motivate, coordinate and manage volunteers and site coordinators
* Intermediate MS Office skills, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
