Head of Engineering
to lead and scale its technical function across a diverse portfolio of utility-scale projects. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape engineering strategy and play a pivotal part in Australia’s energy transition.
The Opportunity Reporting directly to the executive team, you will be responsible for leading all engineering activities across the project lifecycle - from early-stage development through to construction and operations. You will build and mentor a high-performing engineering team while ensuring technical excellence across solar, BESS, and hybrid projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the engineering strategy and technical direction of utility-scale renewable projects (solar, BESS, hybrid)
Oversee design, grid connection, and technical due diligence processes
Manage and grow an internal engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture
Act as the technical authority across development, EPC, and delivery phases
Drive optimisation of project design to improve performance, cost, and bankability
Collaborate with external consultants, OEMs, NSPs, and regulatory bodies
Support commercial and investment decisions with technical insight and risk assessment
About You
Extensive experience in renewable energy engineering, with a strong focus on utility-scale projects
Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
Deep understanding of grid connection processes within the Australian market
Experience across project lifecycle phases (development through to delivery/operations)
Strong stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally
Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
