Role
Based in BYD's Melbourne office in Truganina, this Parts Claim Specialist role will support our Aftersales Parts team with reviewing dealer warranty claims, inspecting and managing returned defective parts, coordinating with warehouse/logistics/technical teams, and maintaining claim and quality data to support aftersales operations and continuous improvement. Your day-to-day duties will include but not be limited to:
1. Dealer Claim Review and System Processing
2. Determine whether parts replacement is required based on photos, fault information, and claim details submitted by dealers in the system.
3. Determine whether defective parts need to be returned.
4. Determine whether the claim meets warranty/claim standards.
5. Defective Parts Receiving and On-site Inspection
6. Receive defective parts returned by dealers.
7. Conduct appearance and basic issue inspections on returned parts.
8. Verify whether the returned materials match the claim information in the system.
9. Defective Parts Warehouse Management
10. Classify defective parts and freeze them in designated defective-part areas.
11. Manage defective-part inventory records and stock status.
12. Conduct regular inventory checks of defective parts.
13. Support subsequent scrapping, return, and quality analysis processes.
14. Cross-functional Coordination
15. Coordinate with warehouse teams on replenishment, replacement parts, and inventory handling.
16. Track the transportation status of returned defective parts with logistics teams.
17. Work with technical teams to confirm special quality issues.
18. Assist headquarters in collecting quality data and providing case feedback.
19. Data and Reporting
20. Generate monthly claim/warranty data reports, including statistics on claims/warranty cases.
21. High-frequency defective parts.
22. Dealer return reason.
23. Defective-parts inventory status.
24. Support quality improvement initiatives and after-sales operational analysis.
Requirements
25. Automotive industry experience is preferred.
26. Quality inspection experience is preferred.
27. Experience with WMS systems and handheld scanners is an advantage.
28. Basic Excel skills for data checking and analysis are preferred.
29. Familiarity with common automotive parts, including engine parts, wiring harnesses, and body panels.
30. Able to identify defective products and apply basic quality standards.
31. A proactive attitude and willingness to follow processes, report issues, and support continuous improvement.
