Early Childhood Educators (2 positions)
The Julia Creek Early Learning Centre is looking for staff to join our team as we prepare to open our new early learning facility in early January 2026. We are currently recruiting for positions to start in January, and welcome applications from passionate individuals ready to be part of this exciting new beginning.
The Role
McKinlay Shire Council is seeking to employ a responsible, adventurous, passionate, and creative applicants for the position of Early Childhood Educator to commence in January 2026.The suitable applicant will be enthusiastic, have good organisational and communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a small team of Educators, along with the children and their families to reflect the culture, values, and community connection of our small town. This position provides for career progression and leadership opportunities based upon experience and participation in our mentorship program.
You will be supported by a team of established, experienced, and professional Educators. You will help to foster an environment where risk, nature, sustainability, kindness, empathy, independence, and resilience are developed and strengthened through strong bonds of friendship.
Desired applicants will have the following qualifications and documentation:
* Early Childhood Education/working with children qualification (e.g. Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care) (or willing to obtain at Council expense in line with Council Professional Development Policy)
* Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
* Current working with children Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
* Experience working with all ages of children who have not yet commenced school;
* Ability to promote and work within a team environment;
* An understanding of all Childcare Legislation, Early Years Learning Framework, and National Quality Framework, Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and Workplace Health and Safety procedures is highly desirable.
