Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) Oral Health service is seeking Dental Assistant Grade 1 staff with a passion for dentistry and desire to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

Dental Assistant Grade 1 positions are pivotal to supporting daily fixed and mobile dental clinic operations including patient care, chairside dental assisting, reception duties, preparation and transportation of contaminated instruments to central sterilising facilities, supporting Oral Health Promotion at community events as well as completing clinic audits as requested. Dental Assistant staff also support Primary School Mobile Dental Clinic operations conducted in school environments as well as clinics conducted in partnership with Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services.

Flexibility with work duties and location is essential, as is a commitment to workplace health, safety, and wellbeing.

We currently have various casual and temporary vacancies within the service.

Following interview suitable applicants will be listed in order of merit and offered hours per existing vacancies. Any remaining applicants deemed suitable for a position may be placed on an eligibility list (e-list) and contacted in the event of future workforce vacancies. Dental Assistant e-lists remain active for 12 months.


About the Opportunity

In this role you will:

* Provide chair-side assistance to clinicians, supporting a wide range of dental procedures across diverse patient groups, including those with complex needs.
* Maintain and uphold strict infection control standards, including instrument reprocessing and preparation for sterilisation in line with established protocols.
* Support the smooth operation of dental clinics through efficient administrative and reception duties, including patient registration, appointment coordination, and records management.
* Utilise Oral Health Information systems to ensure accurate data entry and effective patient service delivery.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating strong communication skills and a commitment to professional standards and patient-centred care.
* Contribute to a safe, efficient, and cost-effective clinical environment while complying with NSW Health policies and procedures.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and skilled individual who meets the following selection criteria:

* Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or recognised equivalent); or adequate relevant experience as a Dental Assistant.
* Current Australian Drivers Licence.
* Working with Children Check.
* National Criminal Record Check.
