Job Title: Lawyer or Graduate, Workplace Relations & Safety
We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our workplace relations and safety team.
Candidates with 1-2 years of post-admission experience in Employment Law or those currently working in government looking for a career change are invited to apply. Recent graduates looking to begin their legal careers are also welcome to apply.
* Prepare written advices regarding all employment law related issues and industrial relations matters
* Provide strategic advice regarding employment and industrial relations disputes
* Represent the firm at conferences before the relevant court or tribunal
* Research case law and provide legal analysis
* Draft court documents and settlement agreements
* Engage external counsel and investigators as necessary
* Instruct counsel and senior lawyers during court hearings, mediations and conferences
* Correspond with opposing solicitors and self-represented applicants
* Liaise with witnesses and draft statements and affidavits
* Delegate tasks and provide instructions to support staff where appropriate and necessary
* Develop and maintain client relationships and business
About You:
* Hold a tertiary qualification in Law
* Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to think creatively
* Excel at building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders
* Show proficiency in drafting clear and well-structured legal documents
* Display strong organisational skills, including effective file management and billing
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication abilities
* Exhibit outstanding negotiation and influencing skills
* Absorb new challenges, motivate continuous learning, and professional development
* Commit to risk identification and compliance with risk management procedures
* Apply sound judgment in problem-solving and escalate issues when necessary
