Monash Health, in collaboration with Monash University, is seeking a highly skilled and committed individual to join our senior clinical staff in a pivotal role within adult and older adult psychiatry. This exciting opportunity offers a unique joint appointment across Monash Health and Monash University, contributing to world-class research, clinical leadership, and education in mental health.
Position Overview: As a Senior Clinical Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the future of mental health services at Monash Health, while also contributing significantly to the academic and research programs of Monash University. You will lead clinical services within your area of expertise, develop a research program with international standing, and provide teaching leadership for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in adult and older adult psychiatry.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide clinical leadership and expertise in adult or older adult mental health to ensure optimal patient outcomes and service delivery.
Lead and expand research programs in collaboration with Monash Health, Monash University, and other partners.
Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies, including curriculum development and student supervision.
Contribute to the professional and corporate life of Monash Health and Monash University through active participation in committees and service improvements.
Ensure high-quality, accessible mental health services, meeting strategic goals and budget targets.
Qualifications & Experience:
Registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of RANZCP.
A higher research degree (MD or PhD).
Proven clinical leadership experience, with expertise in adult or older adult mental health.
Strong track record in research, with publications in high-impact journals and success in securing external research funding.
Commitment to teaching and mentoring, with experience in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Position Details:
Location: Primarily based at Dandenong Hospital.
Part -time: Up to 19 hours per week, fixed-term for 5 years with potential for renewal.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
